Governance & The Board
LADEC operates in an open and responsible manner, in accordance with the guidelines set by its owners. Good corporate governance and management practices ensure that our decision-making is transparent, lawful, and serves the interests of businesses and municipalities in the region.
Good governance as the foundation for effective business development
In addition to the Finnish Limited Liability Companies Act and our Articles of Association, our governance and management follow the Corporate Governance Code for Unlisted Companies issued by the Confederation of Finnish Industry (EK), the City of Lahti Group Governance Guidelines and the internal policy “Good Governance and Management Practices at Lahti Region Development LADEC Ltd”.
Clear guidelines, robust supervision and reporting practices, and active owner steering form the basis for trust and long-term cooperation with our stakeholders.

Our Board of Directors consists of representatives nominated by our shareholder municipalities as well as our university and higher education institution shareholders.
The Board is responsible for the company’s strategic direction, financial oversight and the appropriate organisation of operations. It ensures that LADEC operates effectively and responsibly in support of regional business development.
The Board generally meets on a monthly basis, excluding holiday periods. Its work is founded on the principles of good governance: transparency, reliability and responsibility. Key areas of focus include monitoring strategy implementation, assessing financial performance and operations, risk management, and sustainability.
The Board regularly evaluates its work and decision-making and updates its operating practices when necessary in response to changes in the operating environment.
