The Lahti Region Maritime Cluster offers local companies a unique opportunity to grow, network and internationalise among top experts in the maritime industry.

New Growth Opportunities Available in the Maritime Industry!
The Lahti Region Maritime Cluster is a collaborative network that brings together regional experts, develops agile cooperation, and builds growth pathways particularly for the cruise shipbuilding sector within the maritime industry.
The cluster acts as an enabler for business growth and internationalisation, providing access to industry information, cooperation networks and export opportunities.
LADEC occasionally organises maritime industry cooperation days, during which major players in the sector look for new subcontractors and partners from the Lahti region. Thanks to these events, several cluster companies have already joined significant maritime industry projects.
The cluster also organises information-gathering trips to industry fairs and produces marketing material showcasing companies’ products and services.
The Maritime Cluster is open to all companies and organisations in the Lahti region that wish to develop their business within the maritime industry. The network is suitable for companies of all sizes and sectors—the key requirement is an interest in the opportunities of the maritime sector.

The “Merimerkit” project (ID A80495) is managed by Lahti Region Development LADEC Ltd and carried out jointly with the University of Turku during 2023–2025. The project aims to strengthen and develop cooperation between companies in Southern and Western Finland and reduce the threshold for them to become part of international maritime industry networks. The project is funded by the Regional Councils of Päijät-Häme, Satakunta and Southwest Finland through the “Renewing and Skilled Finland 2021–2027” EU regional and structural policy programme (ERDF).
