Growth and Internationalisation in Sports Business Networks
Lahti Sports Hub is a network of around 60 companies and organisations, including two Olympic‑level sports centres in the Lahti region.
The network brings together regional sports expertise in business, research, and product development under a shared brand, and works closely with LAB University of Applied Sciences / WellTech, the Sports Engineering Research Center Finland (SERCF) project, and with the LUT University to promote innovation and research‑based development.
Its goal is to develop the local sports business ecosystem and strengthen the Lahti region’s role as a leader in sports exports and innovation activities within the international sports sector.
Through the Hub, the region aims to attract new international business, investments, sports events, and research collaboration.
Lahti Sports Hub operates locally, nationally, and internationally. Networks exist in Finland, the Nordic countries, Europe, and beyond.
Through the Hub, companies can find international partners, join trade fairs, and gain expertise on current topics.
We also organise networking events locally, nationally, and internationally.
Lahti Sports Hub is intended for companies working in sports or wellbeing, or those interested in this field.
The network is expanding towards construction, circular economy, and other related sectors.
The network includes approximately 60 companies and organisations (November 2025).

The Lahti Sports Hub ecosystem has been developed by LADEC since 2021 with funding from the Regional Sustainable Growth and Vitality grant by the Regional Council of Päijät‑Häme, within the “Lahti Sport Business Gateway” project (6/00.01.05.21/2021) and the “Lahti Sports Hub Coordination” project (Dnro 107/00.01.05.21/2021).
The network’s activities support the goals defined in the innovation ecosystem agreement between the City of Lahti and the State of Finland, focused on developing international sports business. Sports business is one of the spearheads of the "Päijät‑Häme’s Smart Specialisation Strategy".
Actions for 2023–2025 are enabled by ERDF funding under LADEC’s “Lahti Sports Hub – International Sports Business Ecosystem” project (Dnro A80038) as part of the Sustainable Urban Development programme 2021–2027.
