We are currently establishing a Defence and Security Cluster for the Lahti Region to create new business and collaboration opportunities for companies in our region within the rapidly growing international defence, security and dual-use technology markets.
What is the Lahti Region Defence & Security Cluster?
The Lahti Region Defence & Security Cluster is a collaborative network that brings together regional businesses, research and educational organisations, and other key stakeholders.
The Cluster helps companies identify business opportunities in the defence, security and security of supply sectors, while fostering collaboration with national and international organisations across the industry.
The Cluster acts as an enabler of business growth, networking and internationalisation by providing access to industry intelligence, collaboration networks and up-to-date information on market developments.

The development and activities of the Lahti Region Defence & Security Cluster are part of the "Lahden seudun puolustus- ja turvallisuusklusteri" Project (Reference No. A92417), implemented by Lahden Seudun Kehitys LADEC Ltd (from 1 July 2026 onwards, Lahti Region Ltd) between 1 March and 31 December 2026. The project is funded through an Operating Environment Development Grant awarded by the Southeast Finland Economic Development Centre. The aim of the project is to establish a strong defence and security cluster in the Päijät-Häme region. By participating in the cluster, regional SMEs can identify new business opportunities, strengthen their expertise and networks, and expand into international markets.
