Global Sustainable Sports Hackathon 2021
International SMASH Hackathon invites teams to solve sports, technology or business related challenges with ambition to take their solution to international markets
The first ever SMASH Hackathon looks for solutions that increase sustainability of global sports events and business. This year in April 21-23 during 48 hours, the teams will create solutions for the challenges set by companies or well-known organisations.
Challenges are now published!
First challenge is related to sustainability: How to minimize the carbon footprint in international sports events? Challenge owners are Lahti - European Green Capital 2021 and Lahti Region Development LADEC Ltd.
The second challenge relates to social sustainability: How to make sports more accessible for people with disabilities with innovative training material distribution? Challenge owners are Finnish Olympic and Paralympic eTraining Center Pajulahti (Sport Institute Pajulahti) and Finnish Paralympic Committee.
Solutions can be for example a new technology, concept, service or anything else innovative. What matters the most is that teams have an ambition to take their solution to international markets.
The prices are set by the challenge owners. Winners in each challenge will meet meaningful contacts and network. Winner can participate in matchmaking with sports event decision-makers in Finland, Europe and internationally.
