TransBaltic Extension project is a follow-up stage for the TransBaltic project (www.transbaltic.eu) that delivered the Macroregional Transport Action Plan - a strategic document with policy actions to improve connectivity and accessibility of the Baltic Sea Region. The aim of the TransBaltic Extension project is to deploy the chosen policy actions in specific corridors and sites through public-private cooperation in order to verify usefulness of the MTAP as a decision-support instrument for policymakers and the market. The project is expected to achieve interesting results by the autumn 2014.
TransBaltic Extension involves five partners from four BSR countries and 29 supporting organizations that include many industry actors, encouraged with a practical business-oriented dimension of the project. Lahti Region Development LADEC Ltd from Finland acts as the Lead Partner of the project.
29th IAPH World Ports Conference in Hamburg
Next year the Port of Hamburg will be the venue for the premier event of the port community. From June 1 to 5, 2015 the Hamburg Port Authority (HPA) will be the host of the 29th IAPH International World Ports Conference, the most important global conference of the maritime industry. Under the banner theme of “City of Hamburg – Calling at the smartPORT” some 1,000 guests from all over the world will gather in Hamburg to debate the importance of sustainability in the maritime industry.
Apart from sharing knowledge and experiences during the conference days, the event also is about networking.
Conference registrations until 31 December 2014 will benefit from an Early Bird Fee that allows a 10 per cent discount.
